Well, that clears my file of Harkness photos . . . so I won’t be posting for awhile. Please look forward to a new dance blog, “OleagaPhotoGallery.wordpress.com”, a treasure trove—some of what you’ve seen from Harkness, yet many others: jazz gypsies, ABT, NYCB, Julliard, etc., as well as posting his other subjects in a photographic career of over 60 years . . . hope to be ready in a couple of months with the new blog. Thank you for your faithful interest and thank all the people who have shared to form this little bit of dance history, accessible to the world. Peace and Harmony in 2012.—mickey morgan

To anyone interested in the early days of the Harkness Ballet, you might want to visit Mark Anstendig’s site (Anstendig.com) There are 120 photos of the company taken in 1965 during performances in Berlin. They are fully captioned and are a beautiful collection.

There are more photos to come on this site, so stay tuned.

    1. Thank you, Kathleen . . . I only just saw your comment. I will definitely look up Anstendig.com . . . maybe they would be interested in absorbing all that is on the Harkness site . . . so it would all be in one place. And things keep showing up. Richard Holden still has a lot of material.
I had started the Harkness blog to expose my friend/photographer’s work (Milton Oleaga). Then it blossomed with other contributions, and now my cupboard is bare.
Though I am trying to set up a blog called OleagaPhotoGallery.wordpress.com, to showcase his hundreds of photos of other major NYC dance companies, as well as exploration of diverse subjects . . . he has a huge series he calls his Fish Books, each book comes with his accompanying page-by-page tale recorded on a CD-R
